Alley Cat Rescue's Monthly Giving Program

Want to support ACR's work on a regular basis? Our monthly giving program, the Compassion Fund, helps needy cats. Many cats and kittens come into our program with broken bones, severe infections, and parasites that can kill them, and without our help, they would die. This is one reason ACR was founded. Many other alley cats, unfortunately, suffer away from human eyes, in dark, dingy alleys, and die. The Compassion Fund is a great way to support our programs on a regular basis through monthly charges to your credit card. You don't need to write a check-it will go through monthly. Right now the only thing you should remember is that the charge will be credited to our account at Brentwood Animal Hospital.

Volunteer Opportunities

 

Daily Chores:  If you cannot support us financially, you can always offer your time. ACR consists of a small staff, with many daily chores around the shelter and the office that need performed. We can ALWAYS use extra hands to help us with socializing kittens/cats, mailings, filing, cleaning, etc. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering.

 

Trapping:  We also need volunteers to help with trapping and transporting cats for our trap-neuter-return (TNR) program. We receive numerous calls requesting our TNR services from individuals who are elderly or disabled. We need people who can help with trapping community cats and bringing them to our clinic for those who cannot physically do it themselves.

 

Fostering:  We ALWAYS need individuals who can foster cats and kittens. We receive countless calls about mother cats with their kittens or sometimes litters of kittens without their mothers, and they all need places to stay until they are old enough to be placed in our adoption program. These kittens need a safe warm place to grow strong and be socialized so they can find happy homes. We also have some adult cats who could, with time, find forever homes; however, they first need some socialization. So, if you have the room in your heart and in your house, please consider fostering. The more foster families there are the more cats and kittens will be saved!

 

Petsmart:  Volunteers are welcome at our Petsmart adoption center located at 12020 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring, MD. Stop by our cat room during your regular shopping and spend some time playing with our cats and kittens. Cages always need tending to and of course, there are always wonderful cats and kittens up for adoption! For more information or to volunteer, please speak with a Petsmart Manager.
